Description:
Adams County is recruiting for a full-time GIS Technician. This individual will provide Geographic Information Systems (GIS) database development, technical and general GIS services to County Departments. Perform technical work to enhance the county’s efforts to modernize its land records data. Develop, implement and maintain the County’s GIS program.
Qualifications necessary: Associate degree in Geography, Cartography or related filed, GIS training, and at least one or two years GIS automated mapping experience or any combination of education and experience that provided the equivalent knowledge, skills and experiences. Ability to read legal descriptions. Knowledge of GIS methods and procedures for input, processing output and development of applications. Knowledge of coordinate systems and standard mapping principles. Knowledge of surveying principles and practices. Intermediate level to use County GIS Software including AutoCad and ESRI products. Knowledge of SQL operating platform.
