Description:
The City of Janesville is currently accepting applications for a seasonal GIS position in the Engineering Division. This person will assist with GIS data development, ongoing maintenance, and data conversion as directed by the GIS Coordinator. Other qualifications are listed below:
- Candidates should be enrolled in an associate’s, bachelors or master’s degree in geography, urban planning, civil engineering or similar program. Alternatively, the candidate may hold one of these degrees.
- Candidates should have demonstrated experience with ESRI ArcGIS 9.2 software. Also, candidates should be familiar with Microsoft Excel, Word and Access.
- Experience with the following is a plus: Geodatabase experience, knowledge of ArcSDE, researching and reading legal documents and engineering plans, and experience with AutoCAD systems and file conversion to ESRI formats.
