Job Description:
Responsibilities include reading, interpreting and preparing drawing exhibits for planning, paving/renewals, etc. Also responsible for reading and interpreting orders, regulations, plans, maps, survey information, legal survey documents and reference materials to create and maintain land representations, maps, exhibits, records and facilities for the planning, construction and repair of facilities. Maintain, research, and correct company records, addresses, databases, maps and drawings. Contacts and obtains underground and land information from and to utilities and/or agencies. Responsible for data entry and retrieval functions. May assist in the training of department staff. Performs similar or related duties as assigned. Must be able to train and work cooperatively with others in all aspects of the job. Must work independently, exercise good judgment and communicate effectively with all levels and be detailed oriented.
Job Qualifications/Education Requirements:
Applicant must have one of the following: Minimum of 2 years of GIS or CAD work experience in the past 5 years; or 1 year of GIS or CAD work experience within the past 5 years plus 4 completed courses in GIS technology from an accredited post-secondary vocational school or college, completed within the past 5 years; or have a certificate in GIS Technology or completed equivalent coursework (6 courses in GIS technology) from an accredited post-secondary vocational school or college,earned/completed within the past 5 years.
