Skills: Graduate or undergraduate student who is self motivated, with a background in Geographic Information Systems, urban planning, urban studies, landscape architecture, geography or public policy. Candidate should be computer literate in ArcGIS and Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. The applicant should have the ability to complete tasks with minimal supervision, after training.

Supervision: The intern(s) will work under the supervision of our GIS Manager/planning staff and will receive specific training needed to complete assigned tasks.

Job Description: Rock County is finalizing the Rock County Comprehensive Plan. The intern(s) will assist in the QA/QC of the data that has been collected and assist in entry of data using air photos, GIS, GPS and field inspections as well as compilation of research material used for final reports and data analysis. The intern(s) will also have an opportunity to work with data collected during the Flood of 2008 including, but not limited to air photos, GIS, GPS and field inspections. The intern(s) should have reliable transportation. This position has flexible hours with approximately 20-40 hours per week depending on availability and workload.
