Environmental/GIS Technician

Natural Resources Consulting, Inc. (NRC), a Wisconsin-based environmental consulting firm, is considering applicants to fill an entry-level Environmental/GIS Technician position at our Cottage Grove, Wisconsin office. The preferred candidate will have a minimum of a B.S. in environmental science with an emphasis in GIS. Field experience is a plus although it is not anticipated to be a major component of this position (no more than 25%). The person hired for this position will be responsible for creating maps and performing a wide-range of geospatial analyses in support of a variety of projects types using ESRI and Trimble software. Problem-solving abilities, persistence, attention to detail, ability to learn quickly, and an understanding of Midwestern ecosystems are necessary. Candidates must also possess excellent written and oral communication skills. This position may require periodic overnight travel and a valid driver’s license.
