Under the direction of the IT/Security Project Manager, the IT Project Lead is responsible for maintaining the IT infrastructure of the company, investigating new technology and software, and providing programming services to the various departments. The position requires an individual with superior organizational skills as well as excellent written and oral communication skills. The position covers a wide range of tasks, including software and hardware testing and installation, database administration, programming, troubleshooting, and repairs. The position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret level clearance.
Position Requirements:
- Experience installing and maintaining hardware and software systems.
- Day to day maintenance of existing infrastructure, including software updates, backup, and archiving.
- Knowledge and experience in database administration, installation, and maintenance of Oracle and/or Microsoft SQL.
- Object oriented programming experience.
- Ability to interface with existing outsourced IT consultant to design an efficient infrastructure.
- Ability to investigate new hardware/software configuration to satisfy new production requirements.
Other Preferred Experience and Skills:
- Experience with the implementation and maintenance of ESRI’s ArcSDE environment.
- Development of software tools and/or customization of existing software including, but not limited to, Microstation, ArcGIS, and Socet Set.
- Experience developing user interfaces, working with databases, and converting data formats.
- Experience with Visual Basic, Python, Perl, Microstation Basic, MDL, Microsoft COM, and/or Java.
- Ability to read and modify existing code as needed as well as to develop entirely new tools.
- Ability to work from a loose set of requirements to build an application to meet the needs of staff and management.
- Experience dealing with mutli-office connectivity between our Sun Prairie and Indianapolis offices.
- Experience with effectively handling large files and datasets on the multi-terabyte level.
- Web page design and maintenance.
