Summary of Responsibilities:Responsible for supporting land surveying services for ATC business units for electric transmission and substation projects and ongoing maintenance needs as directed by the Land Surveying Manager. Responsible for Wisconsin Department of Transportation Highway Utility Coordination on behalf of ATC.Essential Responsibilities:• Manages general service agreements and contracts with land survey consulting firms to perform a variety of surveying services for the company.• Arranges for surveys, to include but not limited to engineering, boundary, aerial and construction. Closely monitors progress of consultants to ensure project milestones are achieved.• Works closely with various ATC business units to ensure specifications, service requisitions and deliverables achieve required results.• Responsible for identifying, analyzing and obtaining landbase information to support engineering plan development. Works closely with the ATC GIS team to ensure land base data, specifications and formats are aligned with and portable between different company system environments.• Drafts legal descriptions and prepares drawings/exhibits for acquisition, management and disposal of real estate interests.• Responsible for utility/highway coordination with WI Department of Transportation on behalf of ATC.• Support and assist real estate department as assigned.• Fields questions, provides information and resolves issues regarding easements, encroachments and other real property issues.• Serves as a technical resource for ATC business units and the public regarding surveying and boundary related issues.• Demonstrates leadership in the area of safety. This requires observing and enforcing safety rules and practices, encouraging safe work behaviors, and promptly correcting conditions and unsafe behaviors that may lead to accidents.• Fieldwork and other duties as assigned.Minimum Requirements:Education:• Education and/or experience equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.Experience:• Minimum of three years professional experience in land surveying, electrical utility survey experience preferred.• Working knowledge of all applicable industry standards relative to land surveying.• Licensed as a land surveyor in Wisconsin or Michigan• Working knowledge of general service agreements and contracts• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple surveying projects with multiple consultants.• Demonstrated proficiency in the use of Microstation Software. Familiarity or work experience with Geographic Information Systems.• Demonstrated effective interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.• Demonstrated knowledge of electric utility operations and processes.• Possession of a valid driver’s licensePhysical Requirements:• Travel to project sites and non-ATC offices will be required. Lifting and/or carrying up to 20 pounds or more (land survey equipment).
