Compile, assess, and analyze spacial data structures for scale and projection for utilization in environmental assessment and analysis; Transfer GIS data structures from shapefiles to a SQL server database files that are “spatially enabled”; Conduct Traditional Ecological Knowledge interviews of tribal members and GLIFWC staff to identify known fish spawning beds, waterfowl breeding sites, and other critical aquatic habitat; Integrate digital orthographic photographs into web based GIS systems; Train staff to utilize GLIFWC’s web based GIS for natural resource management and protection.
B.S. in Geographic Information Systems and 2-3 years or M.S. in Geography/Geographic Information Systems with demonstrated work experience. Demonstrated skill and knowledge of computer hardware and software including HTML, JAVA, SQL, PHP, PostgreSQL and PostGIS, Apache web server, and MapServer environments.
