POSITION SUMMARY
This is a full-time, professional Project Manager position in the Land and Water Conservation Department under the direction of the County Conservationist. Employee has overall responsibility for administration of the County’s Farmland Preservation Program, Conservation Reserve Enhancement Program, Nutrient Management Program, and the Vernon County Sludge/Biosolids Disposal Ordinance. This employee also shares responsibilities of the State Nonpoint Performance Standards and Prohibitions, specialized GIS projects for the department, and other county, state and federal programs. This employee is also required to acquire and maintain NRCS “Conservation Planning Certification”.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree in watershed management, civil or agricultural engineering, soil and water conservation, land use planning, soil sciences, natural resources, or a related field and two years experience; and/or a two year degree from an accredited vocational or technical school in a related field and three years experience. In evaluating candidates for this position, the County may consider a combination of education, experience and training that provides the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the duties of the position. Employee must be in the process of becoming certified or have already obtained certification of NRCS “Conservation Planning” certification.
