Sauk County, Wisconsin is accepting applications for a full-time GIS Specialist in the Planningand Zoning Department. This position prepares zoning and related land information maps, maintains land records and assists with the development of the Sauk County Geographical Information System. Provide assistance related to other planning processes to assure the balanceof economic development while maintaining quality of life through the preservation of unique geographical and geological natural resources.
Interact and assist general public, Realtors, utility companies, abstractors, appraisers, municipal clerks, attorneys seeking geographical information. Compile, analyze, and organize data for use in departmental reports and program administration including, economic, transportation, population, land use, and other demographic data.
Other projects include develop and maintain a GIS database, conduct complex analysis utilizing the GIS and CAD software, design a variety of databases, and analyze spatial data for geographicstatistics to incorporate into documents and reports.
NECESSARY REQUIREMENTS: Associate degree in Geography, Cartography or related field. Strong background in programs designed to generate geographical maps and spatial data analysis. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Access and Excel; ESRI such as ArcView, ArcGIS,ArcInfo, GPS and AutoCAD, Advanced education and/or experience preferred.
