Downtown Revitalization -GIS Assistant
Student Hourly Position
The UW-Extension Center for Community & Economic Development works with communities statewide and the Wisconsin Main Street Program to help downtown districts strengthen their role in community and regional economic development. The GIS Assistant will have a direct role is supporting Extension educators and economic development professionals working to improve community vitality.
Assistant’s Responsibilities:
1. Assist in downtown market studies including use of GIS to analyze and display market data to help identify economic development opportunities.
2. Enhance the Center’s current web-based market analysis toolbox (http://www.uwex.edu/ces/cced/dma/) with improved GIS applications.
To start, 4-6 hours per week. Pay $13 per hour (graduate student).
Preferred Candidate: graduate student with significant ArcGIS experience. Excellent data analysis skills.
