Geospatial Analysis and Technology to Analyze Land Development Patterns
Asli Gocmen, a UW Assistant Professor in Urban and Regional Planning, is looking for a research assistant, who will help investigate and analyze land development patterns.
The position is a 50% appointment, which includes tuition waiver, monthly stipend, and benefits for the summer term in 2009. Required qualifications for this position include advanced knowledge and skills of GIS (specifically ArcGIS), spatial analysis, and good communication skills. Knowledge of landscape ecology and metrics principles, and land use planning and policy are highly desired.
There is a possibility that this assistantship could lead into a different assistantship for the academic year 2009-2010, in which the main duties will involve working towards creating a toolkit to be used in land planning practices.
