Skills:
Candidates should be a graduate or undergraduate student or recent graduate who is self motivated with a background in Geographic Information Systems, land use planning, urban studies, landscape architecture, geography or public policy. including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. The applicant should have the ability to complete tasks with minimal supervision, after training.
Supervision:
The intern will work under the supervision of our GIS Manager/planning staff and will receive specific training needed to complete assigned tasks.
Job Description:
Rock County will be upgrading its web mapping application and re-designing its geospatial database. The primary task for the intern will be to prepare and archive existing maps and data in preparation for this task. The intern will also be responsible for several smaller projects that may include refining the area hydrology dataset and converting the existing snowmobile maps to GIS.
