Job Description: This position will work with citizen monitors, local organizations, and UWEX and WDNR staff to assure the citizen collected data meets quality requirements. 20% Duties may include maintain and quality assure database and metadata systems for Wisconsin’s Citizen-Based Stream Monitoring Program. 50% The position is responsible for assuring citizens are trained on quality procedures, quality assurance-checking entered data, download of recorded data, site registration, and 30% preparation of data reports, graphs, figures and cartographic products utilizing two stream monitoring program databases.
Knowledge Required: Background in computer skills, database management, and database systems; knowledge of GIS is helpful; ability to work well with technical and non-technical individuals. A well qualified candidate will have the following qualifications: Water resources background is important; attention to detail and data quality is very important; effective communication skills; demonstrated follow-through; ability to work well with minimal supervision; solid organizational skills and be able to prioritize tasks, set milestones, sequence activities, establish realistic time frames, and deliver products and services in a timely manner; positive attitude; ability to coordinate with other team members.
