Applied Ecological Services, Inc., a leader in innovative ecological solutions to land use restoration, design and planning, has an immediate opening for a GIS and Remote Sensing Analyst – Environmental Specialist in its Brodhead, WI or West Dundee, IL office.
Job Duties:
Independently evaluate, select, and apply standard GIS and Remote Sensing techniques, procedures, and criteria to meet project goals. Use environmental background to determine appropriate data and analysis flows to innovate new spatial analysis methods.
Skill Requirements:
-Expertise in GIS applications using ArcGIS Software (ArcGIS 9.x, Spatial Analyst, 3d Analyst, Model Builder, ArcView 3.x., and Geoprocessing functions).
-Expertise in Remote Sensing applications using ERDAS Imagine and/or other image analysis and processing software.
-Experience with database development and integration of VB with Access and GIS.
-Applied experience evaluating and mapping vegetation and ecological features, characteristics and trends.
Education and Experience:
BS or MS degree in GIS with environmental coursework, or a BS or MS in the natural sciences, geography, urban/environmental planning, or landscape architecture with GIS experience.BS + 3-5 yrs related experience, or MS with 1-3 years related experience minimum.
