The Department of Geography at the University of Wisconsin-Madison seeks to hire Assistant Professor of Geography, tenure-track position in GIScience. Preference will be given to applicants broadly-trained in Geovisualization having a strong background in cartographic design. Possible research areas include, but are not limited to, geovisual-analytics, map animation, cartographic design, interactive mapping.

Degree and area of specialization:
Ph.D. Required. Specialization in GIScience with emphasis in Geovisualization and Cartographic design is preferred.

Principal Duties:
Teaching requirements include introductory and advanced courses in cartography and geovisualization. The exact mix of courses will be tailored to the appointee’s background and interests. An ongoing research program is required, including supervision of graduate students. Position requires professional and community service as appropriate.
