Responsibilities:
This professional position entails working on a variety of landscape architecture and land development projects. The responsibilities will be diverse and could include preparing conceptual landscape plans, site development plans, site feasibility studies and reports, neighborhood plans, park and trail plans, and grant writing and administration.
Education and Certification:
Bachelor’s degree in Landscape Architecture.
LEED Accreditation preferred.
Experience:
Three years of professional experience in the field of landscape design with demonstrated capabilities in the following:
- Landscape Design
- Ability to prepare landscape and hardscape plans; material schedules andspecifications; and cost estimates for landscape design and construction.
- Familiarity with landscape planning and management requirements in theupper Midwest, and use of native plants in stormwater basins, and bioretention devices.
- GIS
- Ability to research, compile and edit data and prepare layouts and reviseplans and illustrations using ESRI – ArcView, ArcGIS and ArcMap.
- AutoCAD
- Ability to develop and edit scaled site plans and landscape plans usingAutoCAD
- Familiarity with using of x-ref, blocks, pen tables, plot styles, specified CAD standards, layer management, model space, etc.
- Presentation Graphics and Illustrations
- Ability to draw, edit, and illustrate maps, plans, sections, details,perspectives by hand and AutoCAD, Adobe Photoshop, Google SketchUp,ESRI Arcview and Microsoft Word (including Excel and PowerPoint)
- Ability to manage in-house and outsourced production of plans andillustrations.
- Communication / Presentation Skills
- Written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills to be an effectivemember of multi-disciplinary teams (with planners, engineers, architectsand surveyors)
- Ability to understand client needs and communicate available options
- Ability to conduct effective presentations in a variety of group settings.
- Valid Wisconsin Drivers License and ability to drive a personal or company vehicle to various locations for site visits, client meetings, and governmental meetings during daytime and nighttime
