Job Summary
The person in this position will be a resource for North American Sales functions and the dealer network by providing analysis of motorcycle sales, motorcycle registration, demographic, dealer financial, and miscellaneous market data to facilitate sound distribution growth and improve dealer performance through balanced network development planning. This position will assist in determining performing and under-performing markets to facilitate decision support on the best course of action of market development in terms of distribution expansion and/or contraction. This will be accomplish through reliance on spatial analytical tools, mainly Geographical Information System (GIS) technology and web based mapping technology, to both analyze and display local market conditions. The person in this position will be a resource for Motorcycle Industry Council (MIC) data reporting and analysis of new motorcycle sales, and other vendor sourced data and reporting on used motorcycle sales, at the national, regional, district, market, local dealer and ZIP code levels of geography. The person in this position will be responsible for assisting in the enhanced development of tools that house market data in order to make them more readily available to a broader stakeholder group. This position will also be required to be familiar with basic State Motor Vehicle Dealer Statutes to the degree necessary to draft a proposed market action scenario for the legal department to review for approval.
Education Required
This position requires a bachelors degree in Business Administration and/or Accounting, Marketing, Geographic Information Systems (GIS) (as it relates to Business) or related degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience. If the candidate does not meet the degree requirement a combination of relevant education and experience should total the equivalent of 11 years.
Experience Required
- A minimum of 3 years of market or financial analysis experience or related experience is required.
- Understanding and working knowledge of Geographical Information Systems (GIS).
- Strong knowledge of Caliper and ESRI or equivalent Geographical Information Systems (GIS) software is preferred.
- Advanced experience with Excel and relational database.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, including negotiation, facilitation and customer services skills required.
- Approximately 10% travel required.
- It is the preferred that the candidate have a strong understanding of MS Access or equivalent relation database management software as well as some background in general statistics and applying statistical concepts to market data.
