Description
HDR has an immediate opportunity for a Water Resources Project Manager/Sr. Project Engineer in it’s Milwaukee office with expertise in all of these areas:
Roadway / Track Drainage and Hydrology and Hydraulics
Stormwater Management Plans
Streambank Stabilization and Erosion Control
Flood Control Facility Design
Storm Sewer Design
Drainage Reports and Plans
Detention Pond Design and Grading
Water Resources Engineer to provide planning and design support, as well as project and task management, on water resources and transportation projects. Performs engineering assignments requiring application of standard techniques and procedures, but also has ability to develop innovative approaches. Performs field support activities as requested. Conducts analyses to develop alternatives, design options, or recommendations. Assists in the preparation of cost estimates and specifications. Ability to supervise and mentor more junior engineers on planning or design projects.
Specific responsibilities include: Design and production support on water resources and transportation projects for various cities, counties, and state and federal agencies. Lead production of design calculations, technical reports, permitting, and engineering plans and specifications for design of detention facilities, storm drains, flood control facilities, and other hydraulic structures. Provide strong and focused support for transportation projects in area of hydrology and hydraulics for roadway drainage and major and minor crossing structures. Analysis and design of urban storm drainage systems (hydrology, hydraulics, and stormwater quality). Watershed hydrologic analyses for planning, outfall master planning, and flood control conveyance and detention facility design. Perform hydrologic and hydraulic analyses with computer aided software and proprietary models. Prepare construction plans and review shop drawings.
Will work independently as well as plan, organize, and supervise work of teams of professionals and technicians dependent on project/task. Although may serve as project manager on larger projects, project management is not sole focus of position. Will be able to prepare proposals, scopes of work and contract cost estimates.
Requirements
BSCE required.
MSCE preferred.
PE required.
CFM Preferred.
10+ years Water Resources experience.
Specific software experience with XP-SWMM, Hydra, FEQ, HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, HEC-GeoRAS, ArcView GIS, and Microsoft Office required. Experience with GEOPAK Drainage, StormCAD, AutoCAD, and Microstation highly desirable.
Experience in water resources planning, hydrology/hydraulics , and drainage/flood control design.
Experience with regional and state design criteria and water resources permitting requirements.
Must have excellent writing, communication, and organizational skills and be able to manage multiple projects, resource loading, and budgets.
Ability to work independently and as part of a project team.
