The Board of Commissioners of Public Lands has a part-time (20 hours a week) Real Estate Specialist-Senior vacancy located at 7272 Main Street, Lake Tomahawk, Oneida County.

Job Duties:
This is a senior level professional real estate performing routine to complex work that oversees the disposition and acquisition of vacant land statewide particularly timber land. The Board manages more than 75,000 acres of trust land which are primarily located in the Northeastern part of the state. The Board also manages an archive of original land records. Duties and tasks reflect variety and complexity requiring specialized knowledge in dealing with legal, technical, and policy issues which may be of a sensitive nature. The work will involve managing land dispositions and acquisitions, overseeing transactions, reviewing surveys and appraisals, conducting due diligence and project management.

Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge of state laws, rules and procedures pertaining to real estate, property rights, real estate transactions and the legal instruments affecting the transfer, sale, conveyance or lease of property interests; legal descriptions, land surveys and principles of legal title to real estate; real estate appraisal methods and standards, including valuation of standing timber; oral and written communication skills; basic mathematics; ARC GIS software; computer literacy and understanding of basic computer software; organization and attention to detail; ability to read and interpret legal descriptions and title insurance commitments; ability to read and interpret maps; analyze a survey; perform independent due diligence fieldwork; rapidly and objectively assess the significance and value of facts, figures, records, reports, and other information in terms of relevant standards and criteria and to take or to recommend effective action; pay attention to detail; establish and maintain effective working relationship with fellow employees; staff from other agencies and the general public including negotiation methodology and techniques; manage multiple tasks and priorities and manage time appropriately; and ability to resolve complex problems.
