DUTIES
You will be responsible for producing geo-referenced maps and digital databases, will maintain and update the installations Geographical Information System (GIS). Provides technical assistance to project engineers for GIS, Computer Aided Drafting (CAD) and various other support software applications. Provides maps and GIS data information for higher headquarter data calls. Utilizes GIS software to create, query, map and analyze raster data and perform integrated vector-raster analysis to explore solutions. Guides, assists/instructs others in the use of GIS oriented software including ArcGIS and Bentley MicroStation products to prepare maps, models and plots. Performs quality control review of generated products, archives files and maintains documentation. Reviews technical directives, regulations, procedures etc., pertaining to the preparation of the installation’s Master Plan drawings. Uses GPS and survey equipment to assist engineers in gathering project related site information.
QUALIFICATIONS & EVALUATIONS

Applicants must possess either specialized experience or education (or a combination of experience and education) in order to qualify for this position.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Best qualified candidates for this position must show in their resume that they have training or experience in the following areas:
GS-09 Applicants’ resume must reflect one year specialized experience at the next lower grade level utilizing GIS and CAD software programs. Additionally, resume must include experience in one or more of the following: technical engineering methods, planning/implementing complex data file manipulations and using GPS/other surveying tools to gather information for geographical surveying.
• Education can be substituted for experience. Review the qualification requirements for specific information.
•One year of experience in the same or similar work equivalent to at least the next lower grade or level requiring application of the knowledge, skills, and abilities of the position being filled.
•Only degrees from an accredited college or university recognized by the Department of Education are acceptable to meet positive education requirements or to substitute education for experience. • Demonstrated work experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled.
