Software Engineer

Qualifications:

• 7 years or more experience in GIS, Autocad, Autocad Map or ESRI products.
• 10 years or more experience in JAVA, C++, EJB, Servlets, JSP, JDBC, Apache, Tomcat, HTML/XHTML, JavaScript, and PostgreSQL.
• Bachelors Degree in Computer Science

Job Duties:

• Serves as a technical specialist, staff advisor and consultant to the Software Engineering specialty, for facilities related projects, equipment, or program function.
•  Assists the FAA/CS in managing all AGIS system software development requirements, analyses, design, coding, test/evaluation, and systems implementation efforts as well as in establishing and managing contract software requirements for existing/proposed systems. Also assists the FAA/CS in conducting cost and schedule analysis on all proposed software development projects and system upgrade requirements.
•  Works with internal/external AGIS system users to identify system requirements and errors.
• Analyzes created/validated system functionality/performance requirements and convert them into functional programming code applicable to the assigned software system. Develop original programming code at approximately 100 lines per day.
• Ensures all software development is accomplished in accordance with applicable software requirements and practices (i.e., JAVA, C++, EJB, Servlets, JSP, JDBC, Apache Tomcat, HTML/XHTML, JavaScript, and PostgreSQL).
• Supports functional research and development efforts; provide technical support for future upgrades and enhancements to the AGIS program.
• Reviews all pre-published documents for correctness, compliance with industry accepted standards, federal government legislative and regulatory requirements, and user standards specified in Technical Orders (TOs) prior to submittal to the AGS/PM-LEAD for coordination/approval.
