POSITION OVERVIEW: The Outagamie County Planning Department is seeking a Limited Term Employee to assist with GIS data development, culvert inventory, cartography, ongoing maintenance of the GIS and other Land Information related tasks. This position will report directly to the GIS Coordinator/Land Information Officer.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Edit spatial data as necessary using ESRI software.
- Extract planimetric features.
- Assist with culvert inventory.
- Quality control of GIS data.
- Prepare cartographic products for various County Departments.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
- Candidate should be enrolled in a bachelor’s degree program or recently graduated with a bachelor’s degree in GIS, Geography, Environmental Engineering or similar degree.
- Qualified candidates will be fluent with ESRI software.
- Knowledge of GPS technology, post processing and mobile mapping.
- Attention to detail and accuracy when editing GIS data.
- Knowledge and proficiency of Microsoft Office Suite.
- Possess excellent writing and verbal communication skills.
- Good analytical and problem solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and maintain regular attendance.
- Must possess a valid State of Wisconsin driver’s license.
