This role is with the Trelay brand within the Seed and Traits US Commercial Organization of Monsanto. This territory covers all of Wisconsin, the northern tier of counties in Illinois, northeast Iowa and Eastern Minnesota. The ideal candidate location for this territory would be around southwest or west -central Wisconsin.
A Sales Agronomist is the lead crop production system educator, communicator and coach for the Trelay sales teams and customers. The sales agronomist will work across multiple crops and the sales team to establish both tangible and intangible value selling messages. The sales agronomist will also provide input for product portfolio needs to product management team. These efforts will ultimately result in superior sales team confidence, improve sales efficiency and assist the brand to reach business targets.
Qualifications
- B.S. in an agronomy related field is required, M.S. preferred
- B.S candidates must have a minimum of 5 years experience working in an agronomy related role, i.e. crop management, weed management, disease management, and/or nutrient management with growers.
- Strong technical and computer skills, experience with GIS and information technology is preferred
- Strong communication and presentation skills are required CCA (certified crop adviser) is preferred but would need to be attained upon hire.
- The position will be out in the field 80% of the time. The overnight travel will be in the range 30-40%.
