Senior Engineer/Transportation Planner

Position Description: We are seeking a highly motivated, qualified and client service oriented Senior Design Engineer specializing in transportation planning.

• Lead environmental documentation preparation including research, writing and permitting for transportation projects requiring NEPA approval.
• Manage and deliver complete and coordinated project documents within prescribed budgetary and time constraints while satisfying client and contractual requirements.
• Review and evaluate federal, state and local policies that affect the design and construction of a transportation project.
• Analyze potential effects of a project on the environment and/or potential effects the environment may have on the design and construction of a project.
• Facilitate public involvement meetings and hearings, community outreach.
• Land use planning and evaluation, urban planning.
• Compile, catalogue and analyze data in GIS.
• Interact and communicate effectively with design team members, clients and other agencies.
• Proposal preparation and new business development.

Position Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or Urban Planning with Transportation emphasis or related field.
• AICP or PE license or ability to obtain licensing within reasonable amount of time.
• Minimum of 10 years related experience.
• Experience in any of a number of design and analysis software programs used in the industry.
• Familiarity with State Department of Transportation and local agency procedures for design and construction Project management experience.
• Excellent communication skills.
