Continental Mapping Consultants is a rapidly growing geospatial data services firm headquartered in Sun Prairie, Wisconsin (suburban Madison), with branch offices in Indianapolis, Indiana; Portland, Oregon; and Kansas City, Kansas. We are currently looking to fill a Technical Services position (primary focus: LiDAR, but also working with other applications) in our Indianapolis office.

Technical Services

This is a position within our Commercial and Federal Unclassified area located in Indianapolis, Indiana. The primary responsibility of Technical Services is to provide geospatial information gathered from satellite and airborne systems to create global geospatial image and vector products utilizing GeoCue, Terrasolid and a variety of other LiDAR and GIS tools and software applications. Responsibilities include determining precise location, features and dimensions of objects and working directly with clients and team members in researching, evaluating, analyzing and interpreting data from multiple sources to produce current and finished geospatial intelligence products, within specifications and budget.

Position Requirements

• Education, training and experience equivalent to a bachelor’s degree in a geospatial area of study with 1-3 years of directly related experience or an associate’s degree with 3-5 years of directly related experience or a combination of education and experience equivalent to this.

• Knowledge and understanding in LiDAR collection and processing, photogrammetry and geospatial data development workflows.

• Working knowledge of acquisition systems, LiDAR calibration, point classification, flight planning and QA/QC methods used with LiDAR data.

• Coursework should be supplemented with word processing, spreadsheets, communications and geospatial disciplines.

• Ability and experience to work in 3D stereocompilation environment.

• Strong communication and problem-solving skills, particularly strong verbal communication and listening skills and ability to work in a collaborative environment.

• A high degree of analytical skill and attention to detail.

• Good keyboarding, spelling and written communication skills.

• Working knowledge of GeoCue, Terrasolid, TerraScan, MicroStation V8 (V8i), DAT/EM Summit and/or AutoCAD.
