Assistant Professor
This tenure-track, Assistant Professor position seeks candidates with an ability to conduct research and teach courses in GIS, planning methods, statistics, and theories of cities and regions.
Candidates must demonstrate a strong commitment to research and publication in peer reviewed journals; strong, funded research capabilities, and a commitment to engaging in research grounded in the needs of urban planning professionals and the communities they serve.
Minimum Qualifications:
- A PhD in urban planning or a related field is required or candidates are expected to complete the PhD by August 2012.
- Strong commitment to research and publication in peer reviewed journals
- Strong, funded research capabilities
- Commitment to engaging in research grounded in the needs of urban planning professionals and the communities they serve
Preferred Qualifications:
- Professional planning experience and a master’s degree in urban planning are highly desirable. Competence in addressing diversity issues in higher education and in planning are highly desirable. Candidates ability to fill other program needs will also be considered.
- Teaching experience desirable.
