Java/GIS Developer

Description

• Participates as a member of development team or teams; may lead a small development team. 
• Design, develop, unit test, and implement application enhancements and bug fixes.
• Develops independently, participates in code reviews and able to troubleshoot complex programs
• Provides time / resource estimates for assigned tasks and projects
• May lead and provide mentoring and guidance to less senior developers. 

Qualifications

Education and Experience Required:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
• Minimum of 4 years related experience

Knowledge and Skills:

• Required: experience with JAVA web technologies – J2EE, Servlets, Beans, Jsp, Struts framework
• Experience with GIS – geocoding, address cleansing, and mapping, especially ArcGIS.
• Preferred: knowledge of several of the following technologies or tools –  SQL, PL/SQL, HTML, XML, CSS, Javascript, AJAX, JSON, JUnit, JMeter, Apache, OC4J, CVS, Eclipse, Putty, SQL Developer, UNIX
• Ability to work with Web-development tools for new applications.
• Understanding of RDBMS databases such as Oracle.
• Experience on one or more full release project life cycles.
• Understanding of testing tools and unit and integration test scripting, and testing methodologies.
• Experience using an Integrated Development Environment (e.g., Eclipse).
• Able to apply consistently quality and security standards.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Developing general project management/team leader skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a team and with clients.
