Job Duties
Provide technical guidance, advice, and assistance to area property owners, organizations and governmental units regarding soil/water/conservation practices and zoning/land use planning issues.
Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Bachelor’s degree in Soil and Water Conservation, Natural Resources, Agronomy, or closely related field with one-three years experience in soil and water conservation planning, or any combination of education and experience that provides equivalent knowledge, skills, and abilities. Experience or training in personal computer use with conservation planning and inventory software. Experience or background in agriculture. Must possess and maintain a valid Wisconsin driver’s license. Certification in one of the following areas or the ability to obtain given certification within 1-year of hire and maintain certification thereafter during employment: Certified Crop Advisor (CCA) certification from the American Society of Agronomy (ASA), State Soil Tester Certification (CST), and Private On-site Wastewater Treatment Systems (POWTS) Inspector Certification. Experience with Geographic Information Systems (GIS), Global Positioning Systems (GPS), SNAPPlus, RUSLE2, CAD, or other related software and equipment.
