Air Systems Operator

Applied Ecological Services, Inc., a leader in innovative ecological solutions to land use restoration, design and planning, has an immediate opening for an Air Systems Operator in its Brodhead, WI, office.

Duties will include:

Operation of an aerial imaging camera, flight mission and acquisition planning, data management and archiving of large data sets. Applicant should expect deployment out of town for one or two weeks at a time, deployments may include weekends and/or holidays.

Skill Requirements:

Excellent candidates would have:

• Experience with operating digital aerial camera in small aircraft. Experience with Leica RCD-30 preferred but not required
• Excellent computer skills and an ability to integrate peripheral equipment
• Excellent organizational skills and an ability to organize digital data
• Ability to work unsupervised and able to problem solve in a dynamic environment
• Excellent attention to detail and able to look ahead to predict complications
• Experience with working in small aircraft for extended periods of time and in various degrees of turbulence
• Good verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple tasks at once
• Ability to perform work on time and with allocated resources
• Self-motivation and ability to troubleshoot difficulties in challenging environment

This position requires availability to work when weather conditions are appropriate for image acquisition.

Our flight crews occasionally deploy out of town for one or two weeks at a time; we operate out of our home base in Monroe, WI.

Education:

BS or MS degree in related field such as GIS, Remote Sensing, Photography or Computer Science

Experience:

2-3 years related experience required, 3-5 years related experience preferred.
