Desired candidate will have experience with the following software:
- ArcGIS Desktop Version 10.0
- Trimble Pathfinder Office and Terrasync Data Collector
- ArcPad
- ArcReader
- Microsoft Office Suite
The successful candidate should have experience collecting GPS data in the field using Trimble handheld GPS equipment. Candidate should also have experience working with and converting AutoCAD files to GIS format. Ideal candidate would be self-motivated and able to work independently on several projects at a time. Candidate will work both in an office setting as well as in the field collecting field GPS data. Familiarity with water, wastewater and storm utility systems is a plus.
The candidate should have the ability to map wetlands including identifying various vegetative species, soil classification and hydrology indicators. Also, it is preferred that the candidate have a basic understanding of hydrogeological systems and the ability to sample groundwater monitoring wells. The candidate should be proficient in report writing skills.
The candidate should have or is working towards a four year degree in GIS, environmental science, hydrogeology or biology.
