Performs professional work preparing, revising, implementing and maintaining the County Comprehensive Plan, providing communities participating in the program with current and long-range land use planning, performing current planning efforts and comprehensive planning tasks focusing on administering the subdivision ordinance and providing guidance where necessary in the zoning ordinance requirement, preparing grant applications, project/grant administration and related work as apparent or assigned. Supports planning needs ofvarious other Departments as needed or assigned.
Requirements
Education:
Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor’s degree in planning and zoning, environmental planning, natural resource management, or a field closely related to the duties of the position.
Experience:
- Two years, responsible, professional related, demonstrated working experience in planning and/or zoning field related to the duties of the position highly preferred
- American Institute of Certified Planners Certification preferred, but not required
- Knowledge of the fundamentals of grant administration, funding and grant application processes
