The City of Fond du Lac is accepting applications for a Geographic Information Systems (GIS) Coordinator.  This full-time position will perform various duties related to the management and implementation of the City’s Geographic Information System, including coordination of staff, planning, budgeting, needs analysis, policy development, and contract procurement and administration.

The successful candidate will have the experience and skills necessary to perform the essential duties of:  Managing the development, maintenance, coordination and support of the City’s Geographic Information System (GIS) to advance the goals of the City’s mapping and reporting needs; setting project goals and objectives; directing and training other staff in performance of GIS activities in collaboration and coordination among different groups, agencies, departments and/or individuals; creating policies for GIS data creation, distribution, security, and pricing; assisting in preparing GIS budget and Capital Improvement Program documentation; and manage database and web-based GIS and related services in coordination with ITS.

Qualifications include: Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in Geographic Information Systems, geography, computer science or urban and regional planning, plus a minimum of five years experience with GIS and/or ESRI software is desirable. A Geographic Information Systems Professional Certification (GISP) is also desirable.
