The Milwaukee Metropolitan Sewerage District (MMSD) seeks a qualified candidate to fill the GIS Technician position. The successful candidate will be responsible for assessing the Diggers Hotline ticket requests and providing facilities information utilizing state-of-the-art Geographical Information Systems (GIS). In addition, the individual will be responsible for maintaining the District’s engineering records, in accordance with District policies and procedures.
REQUIREMENTS: Associate degree in GIS Technology or related field with a minimum of 12 University level courses in GIS and one year of experience with ESRI product suite (ArcMap, ArcCatalog, ArcToolbox). Experience with electronic file management and document management systems. Proficiency in interpreting utility record drawings and supporting engineering materials. Experience with Computer Aided Design (CAD) desirable. Ability to communicate orally and in written form. Valid Wisconsin driver’s license and physical capabilities to perform appropriate job-related tasks required. Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be acceptable. Residency within the MMSD boundaries (excluding South Milwaukee) required within one year. Salary has a competitive benefits package.
