Summary:
The Unemployment Insurance (UI) Division, Bureau of Management and Information Services is currently seeking an IS Business Automation Analyst to assist with conducting Federal reporting of UI Division data. The work site is in downtown Madison.
Job Duties:
Under direction, prepare and transmit weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual Federal performance reports to USDOL utilizing the CEDARS system, legacy mainframe systems and the USDOL Sun System in a timely and accurate manor. Verify that the daily operations of business area applications are functioning properly. With direction from Automation Specialist, work to resolve problems with business area and IT services when necessary. Assist in analysis and evaluation of system documentation, statistics, reports, scans and/or output to determine accuracy, reliability, validity, usefulness and usage of USDOL Federal Reporting programs. Coordinate scheduling and implementation of new or enhanced data applications for reporting and data validation with business users and IT development team, and DOL, as needed. Consult on the meaning and use of automated information, particularly for standard internal, federal and ad hoc reporting. Use existing data structures and reporting tools to answer business questions. Conduct complex analysis and display of data in a geographic dimension. Develop and manage standard geographically-based datasets. Analyze data using business analysis and basic GIS software.
Job Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Knowledge of: information systems, system analysis and research techniques; general information system concepts, principles, practices and techniques; knowledge of US Dept. of Labor UI reporting requirements; knowledge of Business Objects, SQL, MS Excel, data analysis experience, Sharepoint, GIS; knowledge of fundamental business rules, principles and practices as well as familiarity with IS concepts

Ability to: work as a member of a team
