The Town of Greenville will be accepting applications for a GIS Technician Limited Term Employment (LTE) position. This person will be responsible for updating and maintaining a wide variety of spatial data sets and documentation by verification of paper plat maps against electronic data. A large portion of the Technician’s duties will include editing of existing data.
Other Responsibilities:
- Creation of metadata for GIS data layers
- Conversion of data from CAD into GIS
- Editing building footprints
- Collection, post-processing, correction, and conversion to GIS of physical infrastructure features within the Town using Trimble Geo XH data collector
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum of two years college experience with a minimum of two GIS college level classes
- Geodatabase experience
- Data editing skills using ESRI’s ArcMap version 10
Desired Qualifications:
- Familiarity with Trimble Geo XH data collector and primary data collection in the field
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy when editing GIS data
- Familiarity with metadata standards
- Candidates must have strong technical skills
- Ability to problem solve in the field independently and efficiently
A criminal background check is required prior to an employment offer. A valid Wisconsin Driver’s License and good driving record is required.
