Our Milwaukee office is seeking a full-time GIS Analyst-Developer. The ideal candidates will have a bachelor’s degree and approximately five years GIS experience, strong academic credentials, demonstrated verbal and written communication skills, as well as excellent personal and academic references. Experience in the consulting industry is preferred but not required.
Duties of the position will include:
- Generate GIS maps, tools and data to support project activities
- Develop and manage GIS databases.
- Create and maintain web-based GIS project sites.
- Develop GIS Data Models
- Prepare Software Requirement Specifications.
- Prepare GIS spatial and sampling analysis models and maps.
- Create simple scripts and/or data models.
- Geodatabase management, cartography, spatial data creation, and analysis
- GPS data collection using Trimble units, post-processing and manipulation.
Special consideration will be given to candidates with knowledge or experience in the following:
- Current web development trends and technologies including Open GIS standards, REST, AJAX
- Computer application languages .NET, Silverlight, Javascript, Python, HTML.
- ESRI software (ArcGIS Desktop, ArcGIS Server) including tools and databases such as Model Builder, Shapefiles, Geodatabases.
- MS SQL Server (ArcSDE)
- Asset Management software implementation
- GIS principles and software.
- Database design, information needs, and metadata development standards.
- Statistical analysis techniques and quantitative geographic analysis methods.
