Summary of Responsibilities
The Team Leader is responsible for providing direction and oversight of staff resources supporting GIS data and analysis, mapping and as-built drawing management of ATC electric transmission and communications asset equipment. In addition, ensures GIS and asset drawing services integrity to meet corporate objectives 24/7/365. Provide leadership to ensure staff development, effective communication, continuous process improvement, collaboration, strategic agility and consistent results across the organization.
Essential Responsibilities
- Supervise staff responsible for support of capital project portfolio teams, including GIS data management, mapping, records, drawings and databases, technical files and administrative processes.
- Responsible for ensuring ATC geospatial and cartographic standards are maintained and continuously reviewed for improvement. Ensure mapping documents conform to appropriate regulatory requirements.
- Manage drawing check-in and check-out process between ATC and alliance contractors and/or vendors to ensure appropriate drafts, versions, revisions and as-built records are maintained appropriately.
- Maintain ATC GIS system map products and online map viewers to reflect current operational conditions. Standard PDF mapping output revised and maintained to meet established update schedules.
- Ensure timely and accurate updates to data managed within enterprise RDBMS repositories, following departmental procedures for short and longer term transactions. Provide metrics to define transaction trends.
- Consults with various business unit representatives to identify opportunities and promote service partnerships to support their needs through continuous improvement and value added projects. Monitors technical developments in data management technology and makes recommendations for corporate improvements when appropriate.
- Responsible for recruitment, selection, training, development, coaching and evaluation of staff.
- Responsible for maintaining working relationships with third-party consultants/vendors to obtain professional services and/or data products.
Minimum Requirements
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- A degree in GIS, geography, business systems, engineering, business or related discipline preferred.
Experience:
- At least 7 years of progressively responsible experience in GIS software application system operation and administration.
- Minimum of 3-5 years direct supervisory experience preferred.
- Information management experience in asset management, CAD/CAE design systems or GIS is critical. Additional experience in engineering, project management, IT, business systems or manufacturing is preferred.
- Demonstrated effective leadership skills, with ability to coordinate, lead and supervise employees at various developmental levels and geographic locations.
- Proven ability in interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills with all levels of the organization.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively and lead change in a diverse work environment.
Physical Requirements:
- Physical demands may include, but are not limited to the following; Carrying, stooping, kneeling, lifting up to 45 pounds, standing, talking, hearing, typing, sedentary work and close visual acuity.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license and some overnight travel may be required.
