Excellent opportunity exists to expand established undergraduate programs that rely heavily upon geospatial techniques. Courses of instruction include GIS and remote sensing. Other teaching opportunities may exist in the candidate’s area of specialization. The successful candidate will carry a 12-hour teaching load, pursue a course of professional development/scholarship, and serve the department and university through committee work.
Department/University Description:
The UWSP Department of Geography/Geology is located within the College of Letters and Science, the largest of four colleges within the University. The University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point is the only bachelorette degree- granting institution in the north-central part of the state. Founded in 1894 as a teacher-training institution, UWSP now offers more than 50 undergraduate majors and confers master degrees in 12 disciplines. Total enrollment surpasses 9,500 students.
Qualifications:
Ph.D. preferable. A.B.D. will be considered for appointment at the instructor level, but the Ph.D. must be completed within the first year of employment for retention and is required to achieve tenure.
