GIS INTERNSHIP

Calumet County is seeking a GIS Intern in the Resource Management Department to assist with data model design restructuring, online mapping development, map production, GIS data maintenance, along with other land information related tasks. This position will report directly to the GIS Administrator.

Position Requirements:

• Candidate should be enrolled in a bachelor’s degree program or recently graduated with a bachelor’s degree in GIS, Geography, Urban Planning, or related program.

• Demonstrable proficiency with ESRI ArcGIS software including map production, data creation and maintenance, and advanced editing. Candidates must also demonstrate understanding of core GIS and land information concepts, along with competency with Microsoft Excel, Word, Access, and Outlook.

• Experience with the following is a plus: ArcGIS Server, JavaScript, ArcSDE, SQL Server, GPS technology, geodatabase design concepts, GIS data manipulation and conversion, and database concepts.

• Excellent research, analytical, and problem solving skills

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Work independently and in a professional manner

• Attention to detail and accuracy

• Must possess a valid State of Wisconsin driver’s license.

This position is full-time (37.5 hours per week) for up to 4 months and pays $12.50 per hour.
