The Sheboygan County Planning & Conservation Departmentis seeking a Conservation Technician to assist in administering County and State Land and Water Conservation Programs/Ordinances and provide technical assistance to landowners relating to soil and water conservation projects (animal waste management, stormwater and erosion control, water quality and non-metallic mining reclamation).
Qualified applicants must possess a Bachelor’s degree in a Natural Resource field such as Natural Resource Management, Soil Science, or Civil Engineering or a closely related field, or an Associate’s Degree in Natural Resource Management, or related field with at least three years related work experience or any combination of education and experience that provides equivalent knowledge, skills and abilities suited for the job. The successful candidate must also have the ability to learn to operate a variety of surveying equipment including GPS, transit, laser level, total station and the ability to utilize GIS & CAD mapping software and other applicable computer software and applications.
This position offers a starting salary range of $16.19/hour to $19.69/hour. Applications will be accepted through 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 30, 2013.
