POSITION OVERVIEW: The Outagamie County Land Conservation Department is seeking an Intern to assist with GIS data development. This position is a temporary full time position. This position will report directly to the County Conservationist.
Approximately 500 hours (12.5 weeks/40hrs/week)
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Create GIS Soil Phosphorous data using ESRI software
- Glean data from submitted Nutrient Management Plans
- Tie data to current NRCS field layer data
- Quality control of GIS data
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
- Candidate should be enrolled in a bachelor’s degree program or recently graduated with a bachelor’s degree in GIS, Geography, Environmental engineering or similar degree.
- Qualified candidates will be fluent with ESRI software.
- Attention to detail and accuracy when editing GIS data.
- Knowledge and proficiency of Microsoft Office Suite.
- Possess excellent writing and verbal communication skills.
- Good analytical and problem solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and maintain regular attendance.
- Must possess a valid State of Wisconsin driver’s license.
FRINGE BENEFITS: This is a non-benefit eligible position.
RESIDENCY REQUIREMENTS: County residency is not required as a condition of employment.
