Job Description
- The planning analyst would aid the manager of planning and analytics in building sophisticated planning models and leverages complex algorithms to determine proper technical staffing solutions to meet demand for all in-home repair districts nationally. The position will be highly technical in nature and would require an ability to build mathematical models and implement them through software programing.
- Builds models that contemplate a multitude of variables. Leverages statistics and mathematical optimization tools to create staffing plans and alternate sourcing recommendations. Maintaines and improves on the planning model and adapts tools and logic to meet changing needs as specified by the business.
- Understands and creates intelligent data streams that could feed into the model, by querying through various databases. Creates tools that could be used by the end users for staff planning, by utilizing various programing languages. Will Lead small projects from inception to completion.
Responsibilities/Skills/Experience Requirements
- Mastery in MS Excel, Access and SQL based tools.
- Mastery in high level VBA programing.
- Strong software programming skills on at least one main stream programming language (e.g., Python, C/C++/C#/similar, Java, Perl, similar).
- Understanding of statistics and mathematical modeling including combinatorial optimization and its derivatives.
- Experience with Differential Calculus-based applications in N-dimensional spaces.
- Experience with “big data” mining, analysis and interpretation.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Computer Engineering Degree and/or similar degree in the field of mathematics; Advanced degree preferred.
- GIS (geographic information system) and/or other Mapping experience a plus.’Control Engineering experience a plus.
- OLAP cubes experience a plus.
