Graduate Planner

Brief Description

We are looking for an individual who wants to be part of a team that provides exceptional service to our clients, and we have an immediate opening for a Graduate Planner within our Transportation Planning Practice Center located in Madison, WI.

This position will be classified as a 3/4 Full-Time employee (32 hours per week) with the potential to be classified a Regular Full-Time employee (40 hours per week). Responsibilities for this position include assisting with the preparation of National Environmental Protection Act (NEPA) planning documentation, feasibility studies, corridor studies, public involvement plans, and master plans for highways and pedestrian / bicycle projects.

Job Requirements

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelors Degree in Transportation or Urban Planning or related field (Geography, Environmental Studies, Landscape Architecture, etc.).
• Recent college graduate or experienced professional with up to three (3) years of previous experience.
• Previous experience and/or training with ArcGIS (or other GIS software) and geo-databases.
• Previous experience and working knowledge of with Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Strong technical writing skills.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license and be able to provide own means of reliable transportation for occasional day trips.
• Ability to travel as needed for team meetings, client consultations, on-site inspections/visits, etc.; Occasional overnight travel will be required.
• Must be able to carry up to 40 pounds and work in conditions that feature rough terrain.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Previous experience and/or training with AutoCAD or Microstation.
