Summary:
Natural Resources Engineering Company (NREC) is an association of engineers and scientists founded in beautiful Duluth, Minnesota in 1997. We have been growing ever since. NREC has an opportunity for you to join our GIS Team to support our work with industrial clients in the utility and transportation industries. There are excellent opportunities for travel in the U.S. and abroad, and challenging internal research and development.
The ideal candidate will possess superior communication skills to work internally with staff and externally with clients and regulators, have an entrepreneurial motivation, and a drive to succeed.
Job Responsibilities:
- Use GIS as a tool to support various engineering projects and scientific studies;
- GIS data organization and management;
- Advancement and maintenance of existing GISs;
- Computer programming; and
- Data gathering and testing activities in the field.
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related from an EBET accredited program;
- GIS licensure;
- 3 years of experience in civil/environmental engineering design and construction or other related engineering work;
- Programming background including .NET (C# or VB.NET) experience;
- Proficiency with Python;
- Ability to write scripts to automate common tasks; and
- Travel is required.
Preferred:
- Experience with database administration; and
- Web development background (HTML and JavaScript).
