The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire is seeking a full time CADD Specialist-Senior – 100% to work in Facilities Planning.

Job Duties:   This position is responsible for the maintenance of campus master CAD documents and data records relative to the campus physical facilities.  It performs work according to a specified standard that is uniform throughout all campus records.  It distributes this information via traditional and electronic methods to all necessary users of this information per established policies of the Facilities Planning Department.

Work is performed under the general supervision of the Director of Facilities Planning.  This position assists in managing complex construction projects.  It assists in the preparation of capital budgeting documentation, project drawings and specifications for selected delegated State and Facilities Management projects.

This position requires familiarity with construction plans and specifications, software products such as CAD, GIS and data base and office productivity tools such as word processing, spreadsheet, communications, web-publishing, and presentation software.  It also requires familiarity with Wisconsin Administrative Code, ADA code, other applicable life safety codes, and interpretation of administrative policies.

Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:   

  • Demonstrated extensive detailed skills and knowledge with the latest version of AutoCAD, Revit, ERSI GIS products, and Microsoft Office products
  • Problem identification and preliminary programming knowledge and experience and the ability to translate this information into spatial concepts
  • Knowledge of project design and development
  • Working knowledge of the 2006 International Building Code and the most recent State and Federal standards for accessible design
