Utility Engineering Technician

Summary

The City of Oconomowoc Utilities is accepting applications for a full time Utility Engineering Technician. Primary duties include project inspections, GIS mapping, work order processing, record retention, and CAD drafting.

• Project inspections include the verification of infrastructure placement under the supervision of the engineer and coordinating projects with other City departments.
• GIS mapping for the Electric, Water, and Wastewater department to include field verification of utility placements during and after construction, insuring the appropriate mapping of the utility infrastructure, and etc.
• Work order processing includes assuring materials, equipment, and labor charges are appropriate based on engineer design. Verifying sub specifications for all construction projects, ensuring FTE times match appropriate scheduling tools, and assisting and preparing year-end inventory reports and CIS reporting.
• Record retention includes the coordination of a central mapping system, map as-built diagrams, and perform all historical data research for utility projects.
• Additional duties include Cad drafting, emergency work, assisting as back up for engineers, and other duties as assigned.
