Water We create comprehensive delivery solutions for water, wastewater and wet weather systems, desalination, water resources, water reuse, tunneling, and community infrastructure through traditional and alternative delivery services such as program management and design-build.

Job Summary
|
AECOM is seeking a GIS/Engineering Technician. This Drinking Water Engineering Technician role assists with developing hydraulic models, graphics/figures for design/study work, and conducts planning for drinking water systems for regional and national clients. The technician will use computer modeling tools to evaluate existing water systems and potential improvements to ensure adequate quantity and quality of water for the end users. Each design, large and small, is unique, requiring creativity and innovation. Occasional field work involving GPS, hydrant flow testing of water utility systems and water system assessments will be required. This role will include exercising judgment in evaluating problems and selecting/adapting engineering alternatives. The successful applicant will work closely with other engineering staff that will assist with assignments.
Specific responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
• Assist with GIS work in support of water engineers. • Create GIS figures, update water maps. • Use GIS for queries and data gathering in support of water studies. • Occasionally assist water engineers with field work including data collection, and water system inventories using GPS equipment. • CAD drafting using AutoCadd • Assist with producing CAD design drawings and with producing technical report graphics.

Minimum Requirements
|
- General knowledge of water engineering evaluations and design.
- Associate’s Degree or Engineering related experience required.

Preferred Qualifications
|
- Intermediate to advanced knowledge in AutoCAD graphics for GIS.
- ArcGIS and AutoCADD experience is preferred, but not required.
