This is a terminal position with the University of Wisconsin. The primary requirements of the position are knowledge of Wisconsin wetland plant and animal community, USFS forest management practices as well as knowledge in scripting and computer analysis via statistical package software.
Principal duties:
The incumbent is supervised by a faculty member in the Department of Forest and Wildlife Ecology with whom the individual will work to provide overall coordination and direction of research activities and analytical support.

40%: Develop spatial databases on beaver fall colony data, beaver harvest data; digitize, edit and process environmental and habitat spatial data, including but not restricted to weather and stream classification data, produce graphics and analyze spatial data using GIS software and FRAGSTATS.

30% Archive all data using US Forest Service archiving protocols and software.

10% Assist in writing and producing graphics for scientific publications including a historical analysis of the Moquah Research Natural Area for a General Technical Report.

10% Conduct field work, including locating vegetation sampling plots in the US Forest Service Moquah Research Natural Area.
