Job Description:

80% Design and build the trout habitat restoration GIS layer, and maintain the Critical Habitat Designation GIS layer. Work with others to develop and evaluate appropriate mapping tools and databases for this GIS layers and user interfaces.

20% Work independently and with others on Fisheries Habitat GIS projects as assigned.

Knowledge Required:

Knowledge of fisheries management and fish habitat restoration principles. Knowledge of databases, preferably experience using Oracle. Excellent organizational and communication skills. Must be proficient in ArcView, Microsoft Word, Excel, Access and use of e-mail. Knowledge of Geocortex an asset.

Note: this position is classified as a Fisheries Biologist on the DNR Website, but the duties are primarily GIS-related.
